We want all of your teeth to live long, health, pain-free lives. Cavities are one of the most frequent detriments to your oral health- but they can be avoided! Take this quick quiz to test your knowledge on the topic of cavities.

Answers:

1. D- None of the above. Cavities don't care what age you are, so its extremely important to take care of your teeth no matter how old you are.


2. B- False. You don't have to give up your favorite sugary treats forever to keep your teeth in good shape. You just have to be proactive when you do indulge. This means to brush after you have a sugary treat. Remember, the less exposure your teeth have to sugar, the better.

3. B- False. Cavities can happen on any surface of the tooth. So, its important to make sure you are brushing and flossing all the hidden nooks and crannies.

4. C- Xylitol. This substance can now be found in chewing gum, toothpaste and mouthwash. This substance became known after studies had shown that it shows promise in reducing the risk of cavities.
